NAMI Walks

The NAMI Northwest Walk is the largest event of the year for NAMI. With it comes a time to come together to take a stand against stigma and an opportunity to raise much needed funds. While the demand for NAMI’s services has increased significantly over the last two years and our programming has more than tripled in size, NAMI has maintained the standard of offering all of our services free of charge. By joining us in the walk, you are helping us continue to offer these services to our community.

$25 sends one participant through a Family to Family Class

In 2009, NAMI of Washington County had over 80 family members graduate from Family to Family. With the increasing need from the community for this education class, we are expecting to have over 140 family members attend classes in 2010. For every $25 dollars we raise, we are able to cover the cost of one family member attending the class.

$50 provides the initial training for a one volunteer to be a PACS Specialist

Prescription Assistance Community Services (PACS) started at NAMI of Washington County in 2008 and has served over 700 participants since it inception. As the community demand increases, the need for trained volunteers to support the program also increases. This program serves some of the most vulnerable members of the community, those who have not been able to connect with resources and services, and offers support, help and hope. Raising just $50 allows us to train one volunteer in the PACS program.
